Following an incredible, promotion-winning season that saw our Ladies 1st XI secure their place in the highly competitive Yorkshire & North East Women’s Division 1, Huddersfield Dragons Hockey Club is officially recruiting new players for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign! Whether you have recently moved to the Kirklees area, are finishing up your university studies, or are looking for a fresh sporting challenge in a higher division with top-tier coaching, there is a place for you in the Dragons family.
We pride ourselves on being a vibrant, inclusive, and highly motivated community club. This is a massively exciting era for our women’s section as our freshly promoted Ladies 1st XI prepare to make their mark on Division 1. To push the squad forward, we are actively looking for experienced, ambitious players who want to test themselves at a high level and build on last year’s historic success.
However, you don’t need to be an elite athlete to lace up your boots with us. With three competitive ladies’ teams, we cater to all abilities and backgrounds. Whether you want to play at the peak of regional hockey, return to the sport after a break, or just want a fun way to stay active, we have a squad that fits your experience and goals. We are currently recruiting across all positions!
When you join the Dragons, you get regular mid-week training sessions and weekend league matches led by experienced coaches at our fantastic Storthes Hall home. Beyond the pitch, we offer an unbeatable club culture. We firmly believe in balancing hard work and tactical development on game day with a welcoming, positive, and vibrant social atmosphere off it.
